Honors Program

The Honors Program at Illinois State University challenges and stimulates academically-talented and highly-motivated students, offering them the personal attention and collegiate atmosphere often found only at small, liberal arts colleges. Illinois State is praised by students and families alike for feeling smaller than it is, and this sense of intimacy is especially strong among Honors students.

The Honors Program also enriches students' academic and social experiences by providing a variety of formal and informal learning experiences as well as nurturing an environment that encourages interaction with peers and faculty members both in and out of the classroom. Some of the benefits of the program include: smaller honors sections and closer interaction with faculty, opportunities for research and special projects, personalized academic advisement, scholarships, graduation designations, and various ways to get involved.
