Description: My research consists of two components: developing a presentation on the contributions of Alexander Hamilton to the evolution of judicial review, and developing a quasi-press conference where a Hamilton impersonator will respond to questions on contemporary issues from people posing as reporters. Since both the presentation and press conference will be conducted in October it would be nice to have a student work this summer on this research.
Student Qualities: The student can be from a variety of disciplines, such as social science teacher education, political science, history, or journalism, and get substantial educational benefit by participating in one or both of the projects. The student needs to have original research skills, time management, and good writing abilities. Some interest and familiarity with the colonial period in American history would be nice, and knowledge of Hamilton would be an asset but not essential.
