Registration Information

Check out Course Finder to look for classes and plan your schedule.

The University Registrar's web site lists important dates about registration. YOU MAY DROP/ADD ONLY AT THE TIMES DESIGNATED.

PERMIT INFORMATION:

  • A Colloquium (IDS 202.xx) – You must call the Honors Office (438-2559) to put your name on a permit list. This does not register you for the course—you must register to add the course to your schedule. If you no longer want the course, please call back and remove your name from the permit list. Reference numbers are listed under Interdisciplinary Studies (604).
  • Undergraduate Research Participation (IDS 285 or 286) – You must have your contract (obtained from the Honors Office) signed and returned to Honors before a permit will be entered on the computer. This does not register you for the course—you must register to add this course. Reference numbers are listed under Interdisciplinary Studies (604).
  • Independent Honors Study (299) – You must have your contract (available from the Honors Program office) signed and returned to the department in order to receive clearance to be able to register.
  • More than 17 hours – must receive permission from departmental or Honors advisor.
  • Closed courses – enrollment monitored by department – contact the departmental advisor in which the course is offered.
  • Time conflicts – needing to register for two classes with overlapping times, such as MUS 110. Obtain a Time Conflict Form from the department of the class you need to add. The department signs the form to give you permission to add the class. Bring the signed form to Moulton 107 and they will add the conflicting course to your schedule.

Attention College of Business Majors
Are you a sophomore College of Business major who would like to take an Honors section of FIL 185 or 250, MQM 220 or MKT 230, 231, or 232 but have not quite reached the 60 hour requirement to take one of these courses? If an Honors section of the course you want is offered next semester and you would like to enroll, please call the Honors office (438-2559). We will give your name to the College of Business Advisement Center and they will enter a permit if they determine you are eligible to take the course. (Remember that you must have completed at least 45 hours.) Again, this only pertains to Honors sections, and it is important that you let us know well before registration that you want the class.
