The Senior Professionals Mentoring Program is an association of retired local professionals who volunteer to mentor Honors students. Mentors share experiences, career advice, and friendship with their student mentees.
The program not only helps students form lasting friendships with their mentors, but it also helps them create a career-enhancing network and gives them vital information about their prospective careers. The Honors Program tries to match student goals to a mentor with comparable experiences.
Check out the Senior Professionals Brochure (pdf) for more information.
Current mentors have held positions in a variety of professions, which include, but are not limited to, careers in medicine, education, government, business and industry, military, engineering, architecture, religion, and agriculture. Mentors are encouraged to have informal discussions with mentees. Group activities for all mentors and mentees are held throughout the school year.
Students participating in the Senior Professionals Program are eligible to apply for the Charles W. Bolen Honors Student award.
