Honors Program Student Assistants Leadership Team (SALT)

SALT team members will develop leadership skills while promoting the Honors Program and building a sense of community among Honors students through creating and implementing innovative programs, as well as preserving Honors Program traditions.

SALT team members will:  

  • Participate in personal and professional development programs
  • Promote the Honors Program
  • Implement special events
  • Plan and host various events and activities, such as:
    • Honors Welcome Week
    • Honors Program Formal
    • Viva Variety
    • Other events, as developed by SALT

Honors Peer Mentors

Honors Peer Mentors (HPMs) co-facilitate the Honors Freshman Seminar with an Honors staff member, for which they receive a monetary stipend. HPMs are responsible for planning and implementing seminar activities. The time commitment is approximately 6 hours per week for the fall semester.

Presidential Scholars Assistants

PSAs facilitate the Presidential Scholars Freshman Seminar, for which they receive a monetary stipend. PSAs assist freshmen Presidential Scholars in their transition to the university, generate enthusiasm for the opportunities of the Presidential Scholars and Honors Programs, and provide resources to support and assist students' success both personally and professionally. The time commitment is approximately 6 hours per week for the fall semester.
