Grading

All assignments are to be turned in at the beginning of class the day they are due. All assignments must be typed, double-spaced, and in a 12 point font such as Times, Times New Roman or Arial. Handwritten assignments will not be awarded points unless specified in advance. Quality and effort are expected to be put into all assignments. Complete your assignments thoroughly, neatly, and accurately to earn maximum points.

Late assignments will have a deduction of 2 points for each day they are late. Assignments will not be accepted after 2 weeks past the due date. Late assignments must be turned in to the Honors Advisor in class or delivered to her mailbox in the Honors Office.

We do not accept emailed assignments unless otherwise specified.

Grading Scale: Assignments total up to 190 points, Attendance is worth up to 25 points, for a total of 215 points.

A = 90-100%
B = 80-89%
C = 70-79%
D = 60-69%
F = 59% or below

Note: A grade of “A” or “B” in the Honors Freshman Seminar is one of the requirements for earning the Sophomore Honors Scholar designation.

Academic Integrity: Students are expected to do their own work and appropriately cite sources, including internet information. Academic dishonesty of any form will not be tolerated (penalties range from a 0 on the assignment to a failing grade in the course), as it is a violation of the Code of Student Conduct.
