Purpose/Description:

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) is the nation’s only honors organization recognizing outstanding academic achievement among first- and second-year college students. NSCS also offers a wide variety of opportunities for involvement on the campus, community, and national levels and encourages members to become involved in community service and leadership activities throughout their college years and beyond.

NSCS currently has more than 450,000 lifetime members at 218 chapters in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is a 501 (c) 3, not-for-profit organization.

Membership Criteria:
Membership is by invitation only, based on grade point average and class standing.

Membership Costs:
A one-time $75 fee (lifetime membership)

Membership Benefits:
NSCS provides opportunities for personal growth and leadership development, organizes and encourages learning opportunities through community service, fosters an overall appreciation for the value of higher education, and offers various scholarships.
