Purpose/Description:
Mortar Board recognizes academically outstanding juniors and seniors who have excelled at leadership and service.
Membership Criteria:
Students in the top 35% of the junior class are invited to apply and submit letters of recommendation.
(Such students usually need to have at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average to qualify.)
Mortar Board seniors select new members from applying candidates during the spring semester.
Membership Costs:
A $55.00 one-time initiation fee and local dues established by the chapter.
Membership Benefits:
Students participate in campus and community service, raise funds for the organization, select new members based on applications, and are recognized at Commencement.
