Beta Psi/Phi Alpha Chapter

Purpose/Description:
The mission of Beta Psi is to honor Social Work students of high academic merit.

Membership Criteria:
Students must be admitted to the Social Work major at ISU and must establish and maintain a set GPA (in the range of 3.5 within the major and 3.2 overall).

Membership Costs:
One-time dues of $20; of that, $8 goes to the national society and $12 remains with the local chapter for use in whatever way the chapter sees fit. Past projects have included best essay awards, plaque presentations and regalia for graduation gowns.

Membership Benefits:
Membership is recognized across the profession as denoting high academic achievement. Anecdotal evidence suggests this can be useful information for prospective employers. Membership is considered lifetime and so has certain "networking" benefits as well.
