Purpose/Description:
Alpha Phi Sigma performs service in the community, such as volunteering at the Juvenile Detention Center, and promotes scholarship within the CJS department.

Membership Criteria:
The requirements for undergraduate membership are: be a Criminal Justice major with a major GPA of 3.25 or higher, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, be a full or part-time student, and have completed a minimum of 12 hours of Criminal Justice coursework at ISU (6 hours of criminal justice and 6 hours of major courses outside of the department).

Requirements for graduate members are: have completed at least 12 hours of graduate work (9 hours for associate membership), have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 in their graduate coursework, and be a full or part-time student.

Membership Costs:
A one-time membership fee of $30 for national organization and $7 per year for the local organization.

Membership Benefits:
Members get to know the department faculty and other students in the major fairly well. In addition, their resumes are enhanced through participation in community service.
