Honors Colloquia are seminar-type courses offered only for Honors students. Professors from around the University design these colloquia to share their scholarly expertise.
The topics of colloquia offered vary from semester to semester and from year to year and may or may not be repeated. Past colloquia topics have included: The Vietnam War Era, The Development of Western Moral Thought, Death and Dying, Communication and Diversity, Ethics in Human Society after the Holocaust, The Impact of Technology on Society, and Representation: Language, Knowledge, and Power.
Students need approval from the Honors Program before they can register for Honors Colloquia. Students interested in colloquia should call the Honors Office prior to early registration to be placed on a waiting list for the course. Due to the popularity of these courses, preference is given to upper-class students.
