Sara Burton

Sara Burton is an Honors alum of Eastern Illinois University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in social sciences.  After a semester student teaching a 4th grade class, Sara has found it difficult to leave stickers and group games behind.

She is really excited to utilize her background in education to co-facilitate two sections of Honors Freshman Seminar and help students acclimate to college life as an Honors student.  Sara will also be advising students in the Colleges of Arts and Science Applied Science and Technology.

Sara is working on a Masters degree in Child Life from Illinois State’s Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Child Life Specialists help children deal with the mental, physical, and emotional strains that come with time in a hospital.

Sara is committed to being available and helpful to any student who calls or comes in to talk.  Although she may not always have the answer, Sara will do her best to find the answer and point students in the right direction.
